Throughout time, patterns have served as a meaningful archaeological tool. They decorate and communicate. They are functional. They are symbolic. And above all, they tell a story.
Our 2017, In Context collection tells our story of exploring the dynamic tapestry of surfaces, textures, and colors in the city around us. Thick peeling layers of paint over old brick walls offer remnants of a rich past. Worn stair treads provide visual cues on how to navigate our way. While grids of scaffolding over glass high-rises build a narrative for what’s to come. Woven together, these patterns create a visual story and record of our lives in the city.
