River Flux
TIAA Office, TX
River Flux is a large-scale textile installation inspired by historic topographic maps of Frisco, Texas, home to the new TIAA office. As visitors ascend the lobby stairwell, they encounter an expansive, corner-wrapping piece that transforms archival map contours into a flowing visual language of motion and memory. Spanning 23 feet wide and 9 feet tall, River Flux is crafted from hand-dyed leather lace and nylon. The piece was made through a unique process of “drawing” directly with leather, shaping each line freehand to create dimensional lacework that hovers off the wall. The result is a hybrid between sculpture and textile, where structure and softness converge. River Flux invites viewers to move alongside it, activating their sense of place and offering a tactile interpretation of history, geography, and material transformation.
